Use cases & impact

Four domains. One transferable toolkit.

ORIGINS is validated where it counts – in a working museum, a training programme, a tourism destination and a rehabilitation clinic. Each use case asks something different of the technology, and together they show that the same building blocks carry from one sector to the next: a guide holoported into a gallery in Athens and a therapist supporting a patient in Bavaria draw on the very same platform.

Cultural Heritage

Use Case 1 · Cultural Heritage

Museums that talk back

At the Museum of Cycladic Art in Athens, visitors are met by life-sized holographic guides and generative-AI companions that tailor each story to a visitor’s language, background and curiosity. Immersive reconstructions let people examine artefacts up close, ask questions in their own words, and steer where the narrative goes. Schools and care homes can join remotely, so the collection travels far beyond the building.

Educational Training

Use Case 2 · Educational Training

Learn by doing, with nothing at stake

With TEO Training, technical education becomes a shared XR workshop. Trainees practise on a virtual replica of real industrial equipment while AI tutors adapt the exercises, give feedback and notice when someone is under stress. Human experts can be holoported in to teach alongside the AI, and voice, chat and visual cues keep the session open across languages – so people gain real, job-ready skills without real-world risk.

Virtual Tourism

Use Case 3 · Virtual Tourism

Visit together, from wherever you are

With Fondazione Alghero in Sardinia, a destination becomes a shared, living tour. Live local guides are holoported alongside AI narration, and visitors explore 3D reconstructions of monuments, landscapes and festivals – guided or free to wander – with stories that adapt to each person’s language and access needs. On-site and remote visitors meet in the same space, opening the destination to people who could never travel there.

Health & Rehabilitation

Use Case 4 · Health & Rehabilitation

Rehabilitation people want to keep up with

With Schön Klinik Bad Aibling, ORIGINS supports patients recovering from stroke and other neurological conditions through XR-based, gamified therapy. Sessions are led by holoported therapists and family members, or by AI avatars that adjust difficulty in real time. Speech, gesture and culturally adapted avatars let patients with speech, movement or cognitive impairments take full part – and because it works in the clinic and at home, therapy continues where recovery really happens.

Every pilot runs with real users and full accessibility and ethics review, and is designed as a blueprint that others can adopt once the project ends.
